Privacy policy

Range Pilot is built so that your data stays with you. The app has no accounts, and your trips, settings and charges are stored only on your own device. This policy explains what the Range Pilot app and website (rangepilot.net, app.rangepilot.net and the Range Pilot mobile apps) process and why.

Who is responsible

Data stored on your device only

• Car settings — car name, battery capacity, consumption, reserve and price settings.
• Trips — start and end time, distance, duration, battery %, consumption, speed samples, temperature and elevation figures.
• Charging log — charges you add (battery %, kWh, cost, place).
• Recent destinations you searched for.

We do not receive or store any of this. It stays on your phone (or in your browser) until you delete it, uninstall the app or clear its data. If you create a backup file, you decide where it is saved.

Location

While a drive is running, the app uses your device's GPS to measure distance and speed — also in the background when the screen is off, if you allow location "all the time". Location is only used during a drive and is not sent to us. You can change the permission any time in your phone's settings.

Services the app contacts

To work, the app sends limited data directly from your device to these services:

• Google Maps Platform — the address you search for and your position, to find the place and calculate the route ("Can I make it?"), and road distance after a GPS gap.
• OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM) — start and end point of a GPS gap, to calculate road distance when Google is unavailable.
• Open-Meteo — your approximate position, for outside temperature and terrain elevation.
• Netlify — hosts the website and web app (standard web server logs).

These services receive no name, e-mail or account information from Range Pilot.

What we don't do

No accounts, no ads, no tracking or analytics SDKs, no selling or sharing of personal data.

Your rights

Because your data is stored on your device, you control it directly: you can view, export (Settings → Backup) and delete it at any time. For any privacy question write to info@artcomp.net. You can also contact the Slovenian Information Commissioner (www.ip-rs.si).

Earlier versions with accounts

Early test versions of Range Pilot used sign-in accounts. If you had such an account and want it deleted, see Delete your data.

Children

Range Pilot is meant for drivers and is not directed at children under 16.
